Round-up

We’re all holding onto our hats today. Please be sure to vote.

Check out this cool interactive from the Times, which I was turned on to by a J-School listserv.

Also, this story from the Times. It details the networks’ plans on how and when they’ll make projections tonight.

In media news, this report that Gannett CEO Craig Dubow is taking a 17 percent pay cut in light of the company’s seeming collapse has had me laughing since last night. $200,000! Jesus.

What else is new? Well, seems Tim Robbins had a tantrum.

Affleck’s turn as an overly-affected Olbermann has had me in stitches for the last two days:

This news, that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has pulled Doonesbury tomorrow (the strip presumes an Obama victory) without explanation, is disgusting.

From readers, this commentary from the Enterprise from Ned P. Rauch is very well done and a welcome breath of fresh air from the Northland. Ned’s conclusion that Gov. Palin is, in fact, not comparable to Theodore Roosevelt is right on.

This Financial Times story, sent by Clarke Thomas, talks about the end of the Republican Party’s relevance in New York and New England.

Do your duty and vote today. I hope you are comfortable with the choice you decide to make. My father, a Republican who has supported every nominee of his party since Goldwater, is breaking ranks today because Gov. Palin repulses him, this president embarrasses him and Sen. McCain’s lack of consistent judgment downright scares him.

Good luck at the polls.

More as the day unfolds.
